.2nd int'l forum ATOMEXPO-2010 to open in Moscow.
MOSCOW, June 7 (Itar-Tass) -- The 2nd international forum
ATOMEXPO-2010 under the motto "Nuclear Power: Driver of Innovative
Development" will open here on Monday. The forum will be held at the
Manezh Central Exhibition Hall from June 7 to 9, the press service of the
Rosatom state corporation told Itar-Tass.
"The chief executives of leading Russian and foreign companies in the
nuclear industry, experts, representatives from enterprises of related
industries will participate in the forum," a Rosatom official said. "A
specialized exhibition and the congress on innovative contribution of the
nuclear industry to economy modernization will be held at the forum," he
said. "Russian Deputy Prime Minister Sergei Sobyanin will deliver a
welcome speech for the participants in the forum," the official noted.
"Rosatom Director General Sergei Kiriyenko, Director General of the
Secretariat for Atomic Energy of France Bernard Bigot, President of the
China National Nuclear Corporation Sun Qin, President and CEO of AREVA NP
Luc Oursel, Executive Director of Energy Sector of Siemens AG Michael
Suess, President of NAC Kazatomprom Vladimir Shkolnik, Technology
Executive Director of Toshiba Power Systems Company Takahiko Iikura and
Chairman of the World Association of Nuclear Operators Laurent Stricker
will deliver the main reports at the forum and the congress," the Rosatom
official noted.
The congress will hold round-table meetings on topical issues of the
development of the closed nuclear cycle with fast neutron reactors, on
prospects and capabilities of the controlled fusion, the development of
the Kaliningrad power grid in light of the construction of a Baltic
nuclear power plant. "The development of international cooperation in the
nuclear power machine-building and in the nuclear fuel cycle, the
attraction of investments in the development of the nuclear industry and
the legislative support for the development of the nuclear industry will
be also discussed," the Rosatom source said.
An opening ceremony of the exhibition ATOMEXPO-2010 will be held at
the noon on Monday, and the congress will also open at 10.00 Moscow time
on Monday in the format of round-table meetings. An official opening
ceremony of the congress will be held at 10.00 Moscow time on June 8, the
Rosatom official noted. "The joint stand of enterprises incorporated in
the Russian nuclear state corporation" will highlight the exhibition, the
Rosatom source said. "Such leading international nuclear corporations and
major industrial companies as Siemens AG, AREVA, Nukem Technologies, China
National Nuclear Corporation, Toshiba Rus, Hyosung, Alstom, Kazatomprom,
CEAR, Nuclear Power Corporation of India Ltd, Rolls Royce and others will
be also represented at the exhibition," the source said.
Rosatom expects that more than 1,200 delegates, including more than
150 foreign participants will attend the international forum
ATOMEXPO-2010. "The exhibition area has doubled against 2009, and the
number of companies has increased by 30%," said the source in the Russian
nuclear state corporation, which organized the forum.

MOSCOW, June 7 (Itar-Tass) -- The Russian Ministry of Emergency
Situations (EMERCOM) will present cutting-edge technologies at the
international exhibition for rescue, fire prevention, disaster relief,
safety and security INTERSCHUTZ (Red rooster) - 2010 in Germany.
"Russian Emergencies Minister Sergei Shoigu will attend an opening
ceremony of the exhibition, which will be held in Leipzig from June 7 to
12," the EMERCOM information department said.
At the forum Russian producers will present technological inventions -
personal protective equipment, firefighting and special machinery, fire
alarming systems and the firefighting system "Life".
The Russian ministry will put on display for the first time a
motorcycle equipped with the basic firefighting equipment - powder fire
extinguishers, a portable fire extinguisher, aerosol fire extinguishing
systems, as well as the rescue equipment and the first medical aid
materials.
"The first Russian firefighting motorcycle unit has already been
formed in Krasnodar and consists of eight motorcycles. The unit was formed
for the emergency response and permanent monitoring of the life safety
situation in southern Russia," the ministry said.
At the exhibition in Leipzig Sergei Shoigu will meet with German
Interior Ministry State Secretary Klaus-Dieter Fritsche. They will discuss
strategic trends of cooperation and will sign a memorandum on the joint
emergency response by aircraft of Russia and Germany. "They are also
planning to approve a cooperation program for 2011-2012," the Russian
Ministry of Emergency Situations said.
