Imam Khomeini's role highlighted at seminars in Kashmir

Srinagar, India, June 7, IRNA – Seminars and gatherings commemorating the 21st death anniversary of the (late) Imam Khomeini continued in Kashmir for the sixth consecutive day Sunday.

A seminar at Iqbal-Khomeini Hall in old Srinagar was a major draw.

Speakers who included Yasin Malik, Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Chairman, Maulana Abbas Ansari, Prof Abdul Ghani, Agha Abdul Hussian al Mosavi besides others, paid glowing tributes to the late Imam and impressed upon the Ummah to follow the path shown by the great visionary leader in order to break the shackles of slavery.

The seminar was organized by the Anjuman-e-Itehadul Muslimeen, a constituent of the Hurriyat Conference.

Another function was held in city outskirts at Pandrethan by Anjumane Islami. Here speakers also highlighted the role of Imam Khomeini and praised the spirit of revolution he infused in the body of Ummah.

A public gathering on the occasion was also held in Bemina and Dalgate areas of the city to commemorate the anniversary of the demise of the founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran./end
