SOCAR, EDISON SPA DISCUSS GAS SALES IN SOUTH EUROPE
Baku, June 6 (AzerTAc). Rovnag Abdullayev, President of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan met with Roberto Poti, Vice-President of Edison Spa, the fifth largest energy company in Italy in the field of electricity and natural gas.
Abdullayev said Azerbaijan backs the South Corridor idea to transport gas from the Caspian region to the European Union and considers related pipeline projects
Robeto Poti noted major oil firms keep a close eye on large-scale gas production projects.
SOCAR President noted the 17th Caspian international oil and gas conference and exhibition focused on European energy security.
Saying Edison Spa is one of participants of the Turkey-Greece-Italy project, Poti added South Europe region including Italy is interested in purchasing gas from Shahdeniz field.
