Anti-Israel rallies held across Germany

Berlin, June 6, IRNA -- Numerous German cities, including Berlin, Duisburg, Nuremberg and Frankfurt, were the scene of major anti-Israel rallies on Saturday only hours after the Jewish state seized another aid ship in the Mediterranean Sea bound for Gaza.

More than 6,000 people gathered in several cities in western Germany,
among them Duisburg and Duesseldorf, to vent their anger at the Israeli
military action earlier this week.

Waving Palestinian and Turkish flags, protesters insisted on the right of Palestinians to exist, lifting the Israeli siege of Gaza and expressed opposition to Germany's ongoing unconditional support for the Zionist regime.

Israel's violent takeover of a Turkish passenger ship early Monday morning in international waters resulted in the death and injury of dozens of people, mostly Turks.

In Frankfurt, nearly 2,000 demonstrators joined calls by Arab and Turkish groups and leftist organizations to join the protests.

In Berlin, hundreds of people took part in two separate demonstrations earlier in the day.

A pro-Palestine solidarity concert is planned in the German capital for Sunday./end
