Vice-Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques chairs Cabinet's session
Jeddah, July 16 (SPA) - The Vice-Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al Saud chaired the Cabinet's sessionheld at Al-Salam Palace here today.
At the outset of the session, the Vice Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques briefed the Cabinet on the contacts, consultations and meetings made during the last days with some leaders and state envoyson developments of events in the region and the world.
In a statement to Saudi Press Agency (SPA) following the session, the Minister of Economy and Planning and Acting Minister of Culture and Information Khalid bin Mohammed Al-Gosaibi said that the Cabinet valued the great attention paid by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to the grave challenges faced by our Arab region and the world and his intensive efforts to assuagedangers and improve relations among peoples.
That attention was reflected in his repeated calls for dialogue through many gatherings and conferences organized by the kingdom and in his patronage of the International Islamic Conference for Dialogue which was held in Makkah. This last has led to the International Conference for Dialogue which will be held in Madrid, the Capital of Spain, on Wednesday under his patronage and in response to his call.
The attendance includes hundreds of leading figures of various countries, religions and cultures.
The Cabinet expressed hope that the Madrid conference will be a base for the future of dialogue among the followers of divine religions and various cultures and civilizations and will smooth obstacles hindering dialogue and preventing agreement on the human denominatorrecognized by all religions and cultures in the world.
