Health prepaid cards system to be applied in Yemen
SANA'A, July 16 (Saba)- Organized by Ministry of Public Health and Population in cooperation with German embassy here, a workshop onapplying system of prepaid health cards in Yemen held on Sunday.
The workshop, which was attended by 80 persons representing health donors, non government organization and health leaderships, aimed at discussing profit study of applying the project and possible realizing of safe maternity and reducing death cases among pregnantwomen and infants.
In the opening ceremony of the workshop, deputy health minister for population sector Jamila Arrae'ib clarified that applying the project is one the ministry's choices to improve health services andheading for applying health insurance system.
She said that the ministry aims by applying this system to help poorwomen and children to get access to health services.
For her part, officer of health sector in German embassy reviewed steps of health cooperation between Yemen and Germany and support ofthe latter to development health programs.
She indicated that Germany has provided Yemen via German Development Bank € 5 million for supporting health sector toped by safe maternity, reproduction projects and for reducing death cases amongmothers and children.
