Moscow wants private transport companies to pay for infrastructure.
MOSCOW, June 4 (Itar-Tass) -- Moscow's authorities want to make
private drivers pay for the use of the city transport infrastructures.
Private drivers use the same parking slots or turning sections as the
rest of Moscow's public transport, but all the infrastructures are
serviced exclusively at the expense of the city budget.
"Private companies should pay for the use of the city transport
infrastructure," the head of the department of economic development of
Moscow's government, Marina Ogloblina, said.
The head of the department of transport and communications at Moscow's
government, Vasily Kichedzhi, said that very soon the routes of the public
transportation system might be distributed among transport companies at
auctions.
Presently, the state-run Mosgortrans /Moscow city transport/ Company
operates about 65 percent passenger routes in the city. 68 privately owned
transport companies work in Moscow nowadays.
.Gas pipeline damaged near Nalchik.
NALCHIK, June 4 (Itar-Tass) -- A gas pipeline is damaged in the
outskirts of Nalchik /Kabardino-Balkaria/ in the direction to Pyatigorsk.
According to initial information, the damage might be caused by an
explosion, a source in law enforcement authorities said on Friday.
The information is being checked. The noise from the pipeline is heard
several kilometres away.
"Gas is leaking, but there is no fire," the source said.
.Lavrov to discuss in Beijing summits preparations, Iran, Korea.
BEIJING, June 4 (Itar-Tass) -- Russia's Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov
will meet with his Chinese counterpart Yang Jiechi on Friday. The
programme of the visit includes meetings with China's President Hu Jintao
and a member of the State Council Dai Bingo.
The sides will discuss preparations to summits due over this year.
They will speak about the planned visit of Russia's President Dmitry
Medvedev to China, and about the visit of China's Prime Minister Ven
Zyabao to Russia in November.
Russia's foreign minister will continue his dialogue with China's
counterparts on international relations. Moscow and Beijing share common
views on the settlement of the situation around Iran's nuclear programme
and denuclearisation of the Korean Peninsula. Russia and China follow the
balanced position and support diplomatic efforts and dialogues. In the
meanwhile, the UN Security Council has presented another resolution to
toughen the sanctions against Iran. Diplomatic sources say that Beijing
may start discussions to work out a joint position of the two countries.
Lavrov will coordinate views on a possible settlement of the crisis in
the Korean Peninsula, which was caused by the sinking of the Cheonan
corvette in the Yellow Sea. Russia and China will exchange views on this
situation both as the countries supporting stability and security in
North-Eastern Asia, and as the permanent members of the UN Security
Council. Seoul wants the UN Security Council to consider the
responsibility of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and expects
additional sanctions against it. Moscow and Beijing participate in the
six-sided talks on the denuclearisation of the Korean Peninsula and
consider that format as the only means to find a mutually acceptable way
out from the DPRK's nuclear problem. Following the accident with the
corvette, these consultations have been practically frozen since December
2008.
Future development of the Asia-Pacific region will be another topic on
the agenda. The sides will discuss the integration processes and the
formation of a new architecture of the region's security. There is no
doubt, the sides will discuss problems around Afghanistan, especially
possibilities of fighting the terrorist threat and the trafficking of
narcotic substances.
The talks in Beijing will touch upon the forthcoming summit of the
Shanghai Cooperation Organisation in Tashkent and joint efforts in the
framework of the organisation.
