Iran keen on preserving regional security: speaker
Tehran, July 15, IRNA - Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani said here on Monday that the Islamic Republic of Iran is ready for any kind of cooperation in line with preserving regional security and stability.
In a meeting with Chairman of the Supreme Parliament of the Autonomous Republic of Nakhichevan Vasif Talibov, he voiced Iran's support for territorial integrity of Nakhichevan.
He also announced readiness of the Iranian Majlis to welcome any planin line with expansion of bilateral cooperation.
Referring to Azerbaijan Republic as Iran's friendly and major neighboring country in the region, Larijani said that the two countries enjoy amicable relations in different areas of economy,politics and culture.
Commenting on importance of Azerbaijan's security for the Islamic Republic, Larijani warned against the enemies conspiracies to sowdiscord between the two nations.
Talibov, for his part, termed Iran as a powerful country in the region and called for further expansion of all-out ties between the two sides.
He then invited Larijani to pay an official visit to his country inthe near future.
Accepting the invitation, the Majlis speaker expressed hope that thevisit would take place in an appropriate time.
He also invited his Azeri counterpart to visit Tehran.
