Imam Khomeini shattered myth of invincibility of superpowers : Mahdavi
New Delhi, June 2, IRNA – Imam Khomeini (RA) through the belief “to be afraid only of Allah Almighty”, shattered the myth of invincibility of superpowers, especially US, said Ayatollah Mahdavi in New Delhi .
Addressing a seminar Tuesday night to venerate the 20th anniversary of Imam Khomeini under the title “Yaad-e-Khomeini”, Hojatoleslam Ayatollah Dr. Ghulam Reza Mahdavi, Head of Al-Mustafa International University of Iran in New Delhi said: “Undoubtedly Imam Khomeini is one of the greatest personality of the 20th century who challenged the hegemony and supremacy of the superpowers”.
Paying rich tributes to Imam Khomeini, Mahdavi while elaborating Imam’s ideologies said that "the great superpowers shivered at the mentioning of the Ayatollah. He brought US to its knees. He enlightened the Islamic values in the hearts of the Iranians and hundreds of millions of Muslims around the globe."
Dr. Hasan Komeili, President Tafheem-e-Islam while paying tributes to the great soul said: “Imam Khomeini restored the pride, dignity and self-respect of the Iranian people in particular and Muslims of the world in general by challenging and withstanding the simultaneous pressures of both the superpowers”.
“Imam Khomeini (RA) became a source of inspiration of Islamic revivalist movements in many countries”, said Maulana Syed Jalal Haider Naqvi, President Shaheed Motahari Society, Delhi. Naqvi was of the view that the echo of the Islamic Revolution, led by Imam Khomeini is indeed, still reverberating throughout the world. The US in particular and the West in general have not been able to cope with the challenges posed by Imam, he added.
Famous poets, through their poetries, also paid tributes to Imam Khomeini. Syed Arshad Mehdi Najmi while paying rich tributes to Imam said: “Today too in order to overcome the basic problems of mankind and the Islamic World we should become certain of the Imam’s famous statement that “whoever is with God is dignified and whoever is far from God is humiliated."
Highlighting the situation of Palestine , Iraq and Afghanistan, Najmi noted that if Muslims of the world will follow Imam’s ideology and become the true followers of their religion, they would easily overcome the anti-human forces of the world.
The seminar, jointly organized by Idara Tafheem-e-Islam and Shaheed Motahhari Society, Delhi , was also attended by eminent personalities.
