Sweden supports Tehran Communiqué

Stockholm, June 1, IRNA – Managing Director of Swedish Foreign Ministry’s Middle East and North Africa confirmed here Monday that his country supports trilateral swap proposal, known as Tehran Communiqué.
According to IRNA correspondent in Europe, Rid Berry made the comment in a meeting with the Iranian Foreign Ministry’s Deputy Foreign Minister in Europe Affairs Ali Ahani, stressing that Stockholm favors seeking a political and diplomatic solution to Iran’s nuclear issue.
Berri also expressed hope that the Iran-Turkey-Brazil initiative would manage to build trust between the sides and relying on mutual efforts eliminate the existing concerns around Iran’s nuclear program.
Referring to the constructive meetings of the two countries’ foreign ministers of each others’ capitals, he said that the entire potentials for expanding relations should be facilitated.
Ali Ahani, too, said in the meeting that Tehran Communiqué was a very directive move and an effective step taken forward aimed at problem solving, adding, “This initiative was made in order to facilitate interactions with the other side and at this point their positive approach can definitely be constructive and useful.”
Ahani stressed, “The contents of Vienna Group’s letter to the Islamic Republic of Iran would make clear the extent of their frankness and truthfulness, particularly that of the United States, Russia, and France in this respect.”
He reiterated, “The Islamic Republic of Iran has never been and is not after acquiring nuclear weapons, but considers taking peaceful advantage of the nuclear energy an absolute right for itself.”/end
