Iran's religious minorities pay tribute to late Imam

Shahr-e-Rey, June 1, INRA – On the occasion of the 21st demise anniversary of late Imam Khomeini (P) representatives of religious minorities paid tribute to his great soul at his holy mausoleum Monday evening.
Representatives of the Iranian Zoroastrians, the Judaists, the Assyrians, and the Christians put bouquets of flowers on his grave proving their heartfelt respect for the late founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The representative of the Iranian Zoroastrians “Mo’bad-Yar” (assistant cleric) Ardeshir Monkchi said, “At anniversaries of the bygones, the Zoroastrians hold rituals each year, recite our holy book Avesta, and give alms to the poor.”
He reiterated, “Such rituals are performed differently for the great and historically significant personalities and the rituals we are attending at today has a different grandeur and light, for instance.”
Mo’bad-Yar Monkchi said, “The fate making and eternal history of the Islamic Revolution has been ascribed by the late Imam Khomeini (P) and today we are witnesses to the bearing of its fruits.
The Zoroastrian clergy who was speaking as the elder of the Iranian religious minorities present at the ritual reiterated, “Today we have gathered at this holy place to commemorate the thoughts and beliefs of that great leader and to stress the existing unity among the authentic versions of the entire true monotheist faiths, as well as their solidarity with the Islamic Revolution.”
Mankichi also said, “This unity and solidarity is unbreakable, like the immortal name of Imam Khomeini and the religious minorities of Iran as that late Imam once said, enjoy great respect in this ancient land./end
