Iran-Brazil call Tehran Declaration important

Tehran, May 31, IRNA – President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and his Brazilian counterpart Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva on a telephone conversation on Sunday evening called the Tehran Declaration as a great and important measure towards bringing about peace and justice worldwide.

President Ahmadinejad appreciated the “brave stands” President da Silva adopted on the trilateral agreement in Tehran that reached by Iran, Brazil and Turkey on Iran’s peaceful nuclear program.

Ahmadinejad further called for continuation of talks between the two countries and said all people who are advocate of justice and friendship supported the Tehran Declaration.

He added Tehran and Brasilia, with the help of each other, can take proper measures to benefit the two countries’ nations as well as world states.

Meanwhile, President da Silva said the Tehran Declaration was important and effective and opined further bilateral cooperation between the two countries can be fruitful.

The Brazilian president added he is determined to make further efforts to get the support of the world leaders for the Tehran Declaration.

He said he is to contact with his French and Russian counterparts Nicolas Sarkozy and Dmitry Medvedev respectively as well as the Chinese president.

Da Silva further said he, in his contacts with them, will confer on the Tehran agreement, which put the Security Council’s permanent member countries in a critical situation.

Pointing to the Non-Proliferation Review Conference in New York that ended last Friday, da Silva said the conference brought a big success to Iran./end
