Pak rejects allegation linking ISI to Indian embassy bombing

Islamabad, July 14 (PTI) Pakistan has rejected India's allegation about the involvement of its Inter-Services Intelligence agency in the recent suicide attack on the IndianEmbassy in Afghanistan capital Kabul.

"It was unfair for India to blame Pakistan without anysolid evidence," Defence Minister Chaudhry Ahmed Mukhtar said.

However, such baseless allegations would not affectPakistan-India relations, he added.

India's National Security Advisor M. K. Narayanan last week said there was "pretty good evidence" about the ISI's involvement in the suicide bombing that killed 58 people and injured hundreds. Two Indian diplomats and two paramilitarypersonnel were among the dead.

Narayanan also said the "ISI needs to be destroyed".

Mukhtar, while talking to journalists here Sunday, said the attack on the Indian embassy in the Afghan capital was a bid to destabilise Indo-Pakistan relations. He said it was "not sagacious" to level allegations without any proof, especially when efforts are being made to improve bilateralties.

Information and Broadcasting Minister Sherry Rehmantoo denied the Indian official's allegation.
