GEORGIANS VOTE IN MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS
Tbilisi, May 30 (AzerTAc). Polling stations have opened on Sunday at 8:00 am across Georgia as the country`s citizens cast their votes in municipal elections.
The Georgians will vote in 3,694 polling stations in 73 constituencies.
Candidates compete for more than 1,700 positions in 64 municipalities across the country.
For the first time the vote features direct election of the Tbilisi mayor, a post contested by 9 candidates.
The election is monitored by over 13,000 local and foreign observers.
