Tehran will give critical response if Vienna Group drops swap deal

Tehran, May 30, IRNA -- Majlis Speaker Ali Larinjani said on Saturday that the Islamic Republic of Iran will give a critical response if the Vienna Group pulls out of the fuel swap deal and pursues the efforts to impose sanctions.

Speaking to domestic and foreign reporters, he said that the initial reaction to the Vienna Group -- the U.S., France and Russia -- will make the Tehran Declaration on the swap null and void.

Tehran Declaration has provided the Vienna Group with a good chance to broaden cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency, he said, calling on the other party to adopt a rational stand to deal with the nuclear standoff.

Iranian Majlis is to vindicate the legitimate rights of Iranian nation, he said.

He said that the Tehran Declaration is "our red-line", and advised the other party to avoid adopting a selective approach in dealing with Iran.

"If western countries have found fault with the Tehran Declaration, they should express it, he said adding that the US foreign policy is in the state of turmoil."

He advised the US administration to change the course consistent with Iran’s peaceful nuclear program.

He criticized the US Administration for adopting double-standard concerning Iran./end
