RUSSIAN FOREIGN MINISTRY GETS NEW “SPOKESMAN”
Berlin, May 28 (AzerTAc). A certain Arman Melikian, who, as it seemed to him, was a “Minister of foreign affairs” of the non-existent state, decided to try his luck in a new capacity by playing a role of press-secretary of the Russian Foreign Ministry after failing to attract the attention of the world community in the arbitrarily created “post”.
The impostor decided to voice the official position of Moscow at a press conference on May 27 in Yerevan.
According to him, Russia`s position beginning from 1992 was that “Azerbaijan recognizes independence of Nagorno-Karabakh in exchange for territorial concessions”. He thinks “such statements are made by high-level Russian officials even today”
We do not know who empowered this upstart to voice Russia`s official position but we state definitely that no top Russian diplomat authorized to express Moscow`s official position offered such a ridiculous formula beginning from 1992. Kremlin and Smolensk square have always recognized territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and did not stop to consider Nagorno-Karabakh as part of Azerbaijan. If Melikian means such “high-level Russian officials” as zatulins, kazimirovs, starovoytovs, sheysovs and other outsiders it is an evidence of worthlessness of the statement he made at the press conference.
Azerbaijan has always welcomed balanced and unbiased position of Russia towards Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict. As Melikian confessed himself at the conference “situation in Caucasus and prospects for regional security” held in Yerevan on May 25, that Russian participants called on Armenian colleagues to get over that Yerevan will have to leave occupied territories soon.
