AZERBAIJAN REPUBLIC DAY MARKED IN MEXICO
Baku, May 29 (AzerTAc). The embassy of Azerbaijan in Mexico hosted a function to mark Republic Day, 28 May.
Speaking to the event, Ambassador Ilgar Mukhtarov told of the history of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic, the first democratic state in the East.
After opening the embassy here, according to Mukhtarov, Azerbaijan is pursuing an expedient policy in order to strengthen relations with Mexico and other Latin America countries
On the Armenia`s aggression against Azerbaijan he noted Azerbaijan continues peace talks to find a peaceful solution to the problem.
Guests saw an exhibition of Azerbaijani national art and a documentary on the history, culture and tourism of the country.
The function was attended by Mexican MPs, Foreign Ministry representatives, heads of diplomatic corps, Azerbaijanis living here as well as representatives of NGOs and businessmen.
