SANTA FE MAYOR DECLARES MAY 28th AS AZERBAIJAN `s REPUBLIC DAY
Washington, May 26 (AzerTAc). Mayor of Santa Fe, New Mexico, David Coss has declared May 28th as the Republic Day of Azerbaijan, according to the Azeri consulate-general in Los Angeles.
The consulate-general also received a congratulatory letter from New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson, who said that throughout the history, Azerbaijanis had made great contribution to the fields like art, literature, technology and science.
On the eve of the anniversary of the first democratic republic in the Muslim East, Azerbaijanis must be proud of this heritage and culture, he added.
