FM spokesman lambasts PGCC allegations on Iranian islands

Tehran, May 25, IRNA – Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehman-Parast on Tuesday lambasted the baseless allegations of certain Arab states about the possession of the three Iranian islands in the Persian Gulf.

Talking to reporters during his weekly press briefing, he condemned the unfounded allegations made in the final statement of the foreign ministerial session of the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council (PGCC) held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on the three Iranian islands of the Greater and Lesser Tunbs and Abu Musa.

He reiterated that such a move is a clear interference in the domestic affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Mehman-Parast stressed that the three islands of the Greater and Lesser Tunbs and Abu Musa have been the integral part of the Iranian territory along the history and belong to Iran for ever.

He added that any possible misunderstanding regarding the Abu Musa island can be resolved through bilateral talks between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the United Arab Emirates.

The spokesman emphasized that interference of any third party in the issue would not be of any help./end
