ROMANIA REAFFIRMS ITS POSITION REGARDING “PARLIAMENTARY ELECTIONS” IN OCCUPIED TERRITORIES OF AZERBAIJAN
Baku, May 25 (AzerTAc). Romania has reaffirmed its “primary and justified” position regarding the May 23 “parliamentary elections” run by the separatist regime in the occupied territory of Azerbaijan – Nagorno Karabakh, according to the Romanian embassy in Baku.
During the negotiations on the “parliamentary elections” within the framework of the European Union, Romania pressed for the organization`s attitude toward the issue.
During the debates Ms. Catherine Ashton, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy of the European Unio,n made a statement regarding the “elections”, Romania`s Embassy to Azerbaijan said.
Romania, which officially supports Azerbaijan`s territorial integrity, has always criticized spurious presidential and parliamentary “elections” in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan, and never recognized their authenticity.
