PERTAMINA TO POSTPONE GLOBAL BOND ISSUE TO 2009

Jakarta, July 13 (ANTARA) - State oil and gas company Pertamina is likely to postpone its planned global bond issue to 2009 from 2008 as the company is making preparations for the conclusion of an audit of its financial reports.

"It is likely the global bond issue will be postponed to 2009," Pertamina President Director Ari H Soemarno said in Magelang, Central Java, on Saturday.

Pertamina was trying to complete the audit of its financial reports by 2008 as targeted, he said.

The global bond issue would likely cover conventional bonds and sharia bonds, he said.

"We cannot mention their value yet because this is part of the company's funding strategies," he said.

He said the planned global bond issue was part of the company's startegies to finance its projects which in 2008 required Rp21 trillion in investment.
