PM reaffirms intention to bolster investment promotion
BANGKOK, May 25 (TNA) – Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva on Monday reaffirmed he would further bolster investment promotion and press on to put the national reconciliation plan into practice as soon as possible.
Speaking after participating and discussing with local and foreign investors in a seminar held at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center, he said he was strongly determined to enhance Thailand’s economic growth following the political crisis.
Eliminating obstacles to investment promotions are a challenge the government now facing. Consequently, from now on, he would give added attention to boosting investment promotions.
In addition, he would try his best to go ahead to put the national reconciliation scheme into practice as soon as possible, he said.
The premier said he would discuss with the government coalition parties the implementation of the reconciliation plan, which might need be revised in terms of an assistance package for people affected by the long protest.
Asked to comment on the opposition’s filing of a no-confidence motion against the government, Mr Abhisit said it was justified as all conflicting parties have the opportunity to settle problems in Parliament. (TNA)
