N Korea demands provocative poster be removed from demilitarized zone.
24/5 Tass 112
PYONGYANG, May 24 (Itar-Tass) - Commander of troops of the Korean
People's Army at the Central Front in the Demilitarized Zone has issued a
demand to the South Korean authorities that they "remove immediately a
provocative billposter put up on southern side" of the demilitarized zone.
The warning is addressed to "a group of traitors with /South Korean
President/ Li Myung-bak at the head."
It says that a decision to resume psychological war against North
Korea inside the demilitarized zone comes as a crude violation of the
inter-Korean defense agreement, a provocation and serious incident capable
of reducing relations between the North and the South to a critical level."
The commander warns that if the billposter, which appeared in the area
of responsibility of the South Korean 3rd Infantry Division remains in
place in contravention to Pyongyang's demands, and if other means of
propaganda war like public address systems are reinstalled there, the
soldiers of the Korean People's Army will open precision fire at them for
the purpose of destroying them.
The warning also says that if Seoul "dares responding to the DPRK's
actions with another challenge, a more powerful blow will follow to
eradicate the source of provocations on the South Korean side".
