Carla Bruni expresses 'love for Britons and British Queen'
London, July 12 (PTI) Months after her state visit to Britain with husband Nicolas Sarkozy, French First Lady Carla Bruni has expressed her admiration for the "eccentric British"and the "exquisite" Queen who spoke perfect French with them.
In an interview to promote her new music album, Bruni has said that she loved the British for their "eccentric and traditional behaviour" on her state visit to the U.K. with herhubby in March, despite her initial misigivings.
Referring to her meeting with the British Monarch, she said the "exquisite" Queen was everything she had imagined a Monarch would be. "Her intelligence, her perfect French -- and she looked so well." The President, at one point, had asked the Queen if she ever felt tired, and she, in faultless French, had replied that while she often did she would never let it show, Brunitold the British publication.
She has also said that just four weeks prior to the state visit, she took advice from the British Embassy in the French capital on how to behave, particularly when she wouldmeet the Royal Family, 'The Daily Telegraph' reported.
Bruni's music album 'As if nothing happened', in which she sings of her love for her hubby and of her previous"thirty lovers", was launched on Wednesday.
The music album contains blatant references to exotic destinations, particularly in Egypt, which Bruni and Sarkozy visited last year during their lightning romance before theirmarriage this February.
"See the pyramids along the Nile... Just remember darling, all the while, you belong to me," she croons, clearly referring to Egypt which was the couple's first foreign trip last December, where they were photographed smooching andstrolling hand in hand by the edge of the desert sands.
