President Ahmadinejad inaugurates water project in Khorramshahr
Khorramshahr, Khuzestan Prov, May 24, IRNA – President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad inaugurated the first phase of a big water providing project in the city of Khorramshahr in this southwestern province on Monday.
The President is in Khorramshahr to commemorate the anniversary of the victory of the Iranian forces over the Iraqi army in 1982 during a major military operation that freed the city after 578 days of occupation.
President Ahmadinejad will launch a number of other major construction and welfare projects while in the city.
The “Ghadir” project which he opened early this morning will provide potable water to cities located in central, southern and western parts of the province.
President Ahmadinejad will address people in Khorramshahr’s major mosque shortly./end
