ADB ALLOCATES RP6 BILLION FOR FOUR INT'L SENIOR VOCATIONAL HIGH SCHOOLS
Makassar, S Sulawesi, July 13 (ANTARA)- Asia Development Bank (ADB) has allocated funds amounting rp6 billion to support the operation of four international level of vocational senior high school (SMK) in Makassar city, an official said.
"We have signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Education Minister and ADB representative. Program trial for the international level of the vocational school will take place this year, while full implementation of the school program will be held in 2009," Natsir Azis, head of Makassar Educational Office said here on Sunday.
According to him, his office is still conducting verification program over several SMKs to get the international standard schools.
The government policy to give more emphasis on SMK now because the vocational schools can turn out skilled graduates who can create jobs.
