Bosnia-Herzegovina to vote for new resolution on Iran in UN SC.
BELGRADE, May 22 (Itar-Tass) -- Bosnia-Herzegovina will vote for a new
resolution on more sanctions against Iran as a non-permanent member of the
UN Security Council, a member of the country's collective presidency,
Nebojsa Radmanovic, said on Friday.
The draft resolution on new sanctions against Teheran has been
approved by all five members of the UN Security Council (Russia, the
United States, France, China and Britain). This document implies steps
limiting Iran's opportunities in the banking sphere, a longer list of
military-technological products liable to an embargo, and also
international inspections of ships capable of delivering supplies for Iran'
s nuclear program.
.Two investigators injured in car ambush in Ingushetia.
NAZRAN, May 22 (Itar-Tass) -- Two prosecutor's office investigators
have been injured in a car ambush in Ingushetia, the Ingush Interior
Ministry has told Itar-Tass. Their vehicle came under fire in Nazran's
Kartoyev street at 23:30 Moscow time. Both injured officers from the
Prosecutor-General's Office investigation office for the republic of
Ingushetia were taken to hospital.
The gunmen escaped from the scene. An investigation team is examining
the scene. A manhunt for the attackers is on.
.US lifts sanctions from four Russian organizations.
WASHINGTON, May 22 (Itar-Tass) -- The US government has lifted its
unilateral sanctions from three Russian organizations - the arms exporting
company Rosoboronexport, the Tula Instrument Design Bureau, the Moscow
Aviation Institute and the Dmitry Mendeleyev University of Chemical
Technology.
The decision was published in the Federal Register on Friday.
The unilateral punitive measures against all these Russian
organizations were introduced at different times on the pretext they had
allegedly violated the US law on non-proliferation concerning Iran, North
Korea and Syria or the international regimens of control of weapons of
mass destruction and missile technologies.
.Russia ready to discuss aid to disaster victims in Tajikistan-Putin.
ST. PETERSBURG, May 22 (Itar-Tass) -- Russia will be prepared to
discuss what it can do to furnish assistance to the people of Tajikistan,
harmed by natural disasters and the economic crisis, Prime Minister
Vladimir Putin said at a meeting with Tajikistan's head of government Akil
Akilov on Friday.
"Everybody has a hard time during a global crisis. But Tajikistan has
also taken the blow of natural calamities. We are aware of that. And, of
course, I am prepared to discuss with you everything that is related to
overcoming those problems," Putin said.
The Russian prime minister said he was very glad to hear words of
praise addressed to the Russian military stationed at a military base in
Tajikistan, who extended a helping hand to local civilians during natural
disasters.
Akilov asked Putin for considering assistance to support his country's
economy and the affected population.
