SOCAR AND MI-LLC SEAL CONTRACT ON FEASIBILITY STUDY FOR WASTE MANAGEMENT FACILITY

Baku, May 21 (AzerTAc). The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic has signed a contract with and MI-LLC, winner of a tender to prepare a US Trade and Development Agency-funded feasibility study for SOCAR on the development of a facility to process and securely store waste and by-products related to oil and gas production.
Speaking to the event, SOCAR Vice-President for Environment Soltan Aliyev told of the company`s role in improving environmental situation in the country. According to him, announcement of the Year of Ecology in 2010 by President Ilham Aliyev enhanced attention to environmental issues. He noted SOCAR implements projects to improve the current situation and clean oil-polluted areas.
MI-LLC Vice-President Sven Mikeranz underlined the company will attract best specialists and focus on waste recycling.
The feasibility study documents will help select respective technologies for processing by-products, evaluate impact on environment and waste management profits etc.
