VP TO DEDICATE CNG STATION

Jakarta, July 12 (ANTARA) - Vice President Jusuf Kalla is slated to dedicate a Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) station in Cikarang, West Java, on Saturday afternoon.

On the occasion, the vice president will be accompanied by among others Industry Minister Fahmi Idris, State Minister for State Enterprises Sofyan Djalil, Minister/Chairperson of National Development Planning Board (Bappenas) Paskah Suzeta, Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Chief M Lutfi, and West Java Governor Ahmad Heryawan.

The CNG station , the first of its kind in Indonesia, was built with a permit from the Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry's Directorate General of Oil and Natural Gas.

CNG is a cheaper and cleaner fuel than oil and can be used in industries and motor vehicles . The fleet of buses in Jakarta's busway system all run on CNG.
