Ukraine-China relations to be of strategic partnership - Yanukovich.

KIEV, May 19 (Itar-Tass) -- The Ukrainian-Chinese relations may and
should be brought to a qualitatively new level of strategic partnership, Ukraine's President Viktor Yanukovich said at a meeting with Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi, who is on an official visit to Kiev on Wednesday.

Ukraine is interested in developing trade and economic cooperation
with China, Yanukovich said, adding, "We believe, that long-term and
mutually beneficial relations should make the basis for our interaction."
Kiev will always follow its obligations and agreements with Beijing,
and first of all in recognising indivisible China, he said.
"We are ready to recognise China's stance on a wide range of issues on
the international agenda," Yanukovich said.
He confirmed the intention to visit China at the invitation of China's
leaders.
Ukraine supports the efforts of China as one of influential centres of
the modern multi-polar world.
"China's stabilising influence has reduced the negative impact of the
global financial crisis on the world economies," Yanukovich said. "We are
especially impressed by China's participation in the settlement of many
international issues along with the growth of its economic influence."
