RUSSIAN HISTORIAN HIGHLY APPRECIATES THE BOOK DEDICATED TO AZERBAIJAN PRESIDENT
Moscow, May 19 (AzerTAc). The candidate of historical sciences from St.-Petersburg Vadim Mikhaylov gave appreciation to the book of Azeri MP, doctor of historical sciences Fazail Agamaly “The President-Reformer” presentation of which took place recently in St.-Petersburg.
The new book-research “President-Reformer” dedicated to the activity of President Ilham Aliyev, shows continuity of political ideas and practice of the national statehood, developed and put into practice by the great leader of the Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev, promoting steady and dynamical development of Azerbaijan, construction of a democratic legal society, carrying out of the foreign policy serving to national interests, V. Mikhaylov told AzerTAc correspondent.
V. Mikhaylov notes that the book stresses the thesis about political continuity, as the key factor, provided preservation of stability of development and all positive directions of external and internal policy, since 2003. “The period of 2003-2009 has shown that Ilham Aliyev could develop the Azerbaijan statehood principles adequately in all spheres that were put forward by Heydar Aliyev, to conduct reforms answering to needs of the Azerbaijani people, aimed at sytrengthening of the positions of Azerbaijan both in region, and in the world as a whole. The president could connect east mentality to his respect for seniors, concepts about honor and advantage with principles of democracy and liberalism, ideas of the legal state, inherent in the western civilization. It has allowed the country to become in the shortest term the leader of the Caucasian region, showing outstanding parameters of growth of economy and international authority.
“It has to be especially noted three successes of reforms: the competent oil and gas policy, including at regional and international levels, strengthening and modernization of the armed forces of republic, economic and social policy, aimed at development of material and human potential of the country. All three components have reflection both in external and internal policy”, Mr. Mikhaylov emphasized.
