Lavrov: Iran's nuclear issue can be solved through dialogue
Moscow, July 12, IRNA - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Iran's nuclear issue can be solved through dialogue.
According to the Ria-Novosti, Lavrov, after meeting with his Jordanian counterpart Salahuddin al-Bashir here Friday, told reporters, "Iran's nuclear issue cannot be solved through military force." He added "We believe all issues related to Iran must be solved through diplomacy and Iran's participation in transparent talks with mutual confidence and not threat for using force against Iran."Referring to the latest Missile "Shahab 3" test in Iran, the Russian foreign minister said, "The test indicated again that the range of Iran missiles is 2000 kilometers, so Europe does not need to launch missile defense system or aerial trace system for such missiles." Lavrov called Iran's "missile threat" as a motive to create a new US missile defense in Europe "imaginary".
The US government under the pretext of Iran's missile threat for European countries has decided to launch a radar system in the Czech Republic and 10 tracing missiles in Poland.
Iran tested its promoted Shahab-3 Missile successfully to the range of 2000 kilometers last Wednesday.
Lavrov in his meeting with al-Bashir discussed Middle East situation, Iraq and Palestine issues. He emphasized that to find ways to improve situation in the region all sides must cooperate.
