Rome, May 19, IRNA – Head of Italian Chambers of Commerce Union in a meeting with Iran’s head of Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Mines called for more economic relations between the two countries.

Ferochou Dardanlu, in a meeting with Mohammad Nahavandian here on Tuesday, discussed the issue of increasing economic and commercial ties.

Dardanlu, by expressing pleasure with Iranian economic delegation presence in Italy, said that the Union with 105 chambers of commerce is ready to increase economic ties with Iran.

He said that Iran-Italy trade process was affected by a number of elements such as world economic crisis in the year 2009, so the two countries' chambers of commerce should promote mutual relations upon existing capacities through a joint economic program.

Nahavandian, for his part, said that world economic crisis could not hit Iran’s economy and added that Europe economy is facing serious problems.

He added that considering high economic potentials of both countries, the commercial exchanges should be at least doubled.

Considering Iranian industrialists and businessmen' attention to and interest in Italian machinery and goods, Nahavandian called for removing existing obstacles to use such opportunities.
