YEMENI-FRENCH NAVAL TRAININGS IN ADEN GULF

ADEN, May 18 (Saba) – Joint naval trainings were kicked off on Tuesday in the Yemeni waters in the Gulf of Aden for the Yemeni coastguard forces with participation of the French military vessel "Dag".

The naval trainings that last for three days include the test of security readiness of the coastguard forces in light of the coastguard training plan for this year to intercept suspected ships.

The training also include securing the international navigation lanes and providing the required services to vessels appealing for held and combating piracy, smuggling and terrorism.

Deputy Director of the Coastguard Sector in the Gulf of Aden Colonel Abdul Rahman Mossa told Saba that carrying out these joint trainings comes within the framework of bilateral cooperation between Yemen and France, especially in the area of security and combating piracy and terrorism.
