145,000 cubic meters of Sakhalin LNG shipped to Japan's Tohoku Electric.

VLADIVOSTOK, May 18 (Itar-Tass) - The first batch of 145,000 cubic
meters of Sakhalin liquefied natural gas (LNG) has been delivered to Japan's Tohoku Electric Power Co, the press service of Sakhalin Energy, which develops oil and gas fields on the Sea of Okhotsk shelf, said on Tuesday.

The Signus Passage tanker delivered the liquefied gas from the port of
Prigorodnoye to the Higashi terminal in the Niigata Prefecture.
The Higashi terminal is the biggest liquefied gas terminal in Japan's
western coast and is the closest one to Russia's Sakhalin Island. It takes
about two days to ship cargos from the port of Prigorodnoye to the Higashi
terminal.
Currently, Tohoku Electric Power Co. is the only buyer of Sakhalin
Energy's both products, oil and liquefied gas.
Tohoku Electric Power is the fifth largest electric utility in Japan,
providing its services to individuals and corporate clients in Tohoku's
six prefectures (north-eastern parts of Honshu) and in the Niigata
Prefecture. Tohoku Electric Power Co and Sakhalin Energy signed a contract
for supplies of Sakhalin liquefied natural gas in 2006.
Since the beginning of 2010, Sakhalin Energy has shipped 61 batches of
liquefied natural gas to Japan, China and South Korea.
