BODY OF RI MT CLIMBER EVACUATED
New York, July 11 (ANTARA) - The body of Indonesian mountain climber Pungkas Tri Baruno was eventually evacuated from an altitude of 5,242 meters of the slopes of Mt McKinley, Alaska, to a base camp at the the foot of the highest mountain in North America.
It was estimated that the body of the Tunas Indonesia expedition team member of the Indonesian Scout Movement could be flown to Jakarta on Saturday (July 12) or the following day (July 13) Alaska time.
"If an autopsy is not necessary, we would be able to send the body in the next day or two. Hopefully, the entire dispatch will run smoothly," Indonesian Consul General in San Fransisco, Yudhistiranto Sungadi told ANTARA by phone on Thursday morning.
According to the Indonesian Consulate General, park rangers evacuated Pungkas Tri Baruno's body on Thursday (July 10) night.
