WB, FOREIGN DONORS COMMITTED TO FINANCE CLIMATE CHANGE CONTROL PROGRAMS

Jakarta, July 11 (ANTARA) - The World Bank and foreign donors have been committed to providing funds to ensure the success of Indonesia-led climate change control programs in accordance with the Bali roadmap.

"On the sidelines of the G-8 Summit held in Japan, we met with the World Bank director. The World World lauded Indonesia's efforts to overcome the climate change," Indonesian Trade Minister Mari Elka Pangestu said on Friday.

She said Indonesia and Australia had adopted a program dubbed "partnership for carbon in forestry".

Many countries hailed the program saying the scope of the program could still be expanded, she said.

The World Bank had funds to invest in climate change control programs, she said.

"The question now is how Indonesia can benefit from the funds to serve our interests." she said.
