Int`l atomic engineering fair opens in Nizhny Novgorod Tue.
NIZHNY NOVGOROD, May 18 (Itar-Tass) - An international atomic
engineering fair opens here on Tuesday, Valery Limarenko, director of the
Nizhny Novgorod-based engineering company Atomenergoproject, told
Itar-Tass.
Limarenko said one of the main events at the fair would be a public
auction for the delivery of equipment for the Rostov and Kalinin nuclear
power stations (NPS). "Up for biddings are 31 lots worth an aggregate of
2,400 million roubles," he specified.
"Our purpose is to promote the implementation of the Russian
government programme to build new power units of NPS, raise the efficiency
of the use of State resources, and shorten construction time for NPS,"
Limarenko emphasized.
Sixty-seven enterprises and organizations from more than 20 regions of
Russia, as well as those from a number of foreign countries, such as, in
particular, the Czech Republic, Ukraine, and Britain, will take part in
the fair which will come to a close on May 21.
A scientific conference workshop on the theme of "The Establishment of
an Atomic Power Engineering Cluster in Nizhny Novgorod" will be held
within the scope of the fair. Those present are to analyze prospects for
the future cluster and determine the circle of enterprises -- potential
parties to the project. The prospective cluster is expected to unite more
than 100 enterprises and institutions of higher learning engaged in
nuclear power engineering.
