DPRK parliament to meet on June 7 -- KCNA.

PYONGYANG, May 18 (Itar-Tass) - The 3rd session of the 12th Supreme
People's Assembly (SPA) of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea
(DPRK) will be held on June 7.
The Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported on Tuesday that a
decision to this effect had been taken by the SPA Presidium. KCNA did not
specify the reason for the convocation of a regular session of the
republic's unicameral parliament.
The previous session, devoted to economic problems, was held on April
9. The parliament members positively assessed the activities of the
government, which set clear-cut economic tasks before the country and
adjusted this year's budget.
The MPs expressed their determination to translate into reality the
policy of the Workers' Party of Korea, aimed at strengthening the
political and military potential, and at raising the living standards of
the population.
As a rule, members of the DPRK parliament gather for a session once a
year to endorse new bills, and personnel appointments.
