Iran-Brazil agree to boost trade ties

Tehran, May 18, IRNA – Deputy for Industries and Mines Minister for International Affairs Ahmad Khademolmelleh here on Tuesday said that Iran and Brazil have agreed to accelerate bilateral trade relations.

Talking to IRNA, he added that the promotion of Iran-Brazil industrial, economic and trade cooperation will be accelerated owing to the recent visit to Iran of the Brazilian President, Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva.

He reiterated that President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s last year's visit to Brazil paved the way for further expansion of bilateral relations between the two friendly countries.

During President Ahmadinejad’s visit to Brazil, seven documents on bilateral economic and industrial cooperation were inked by the two sides, he announced, adding that eight economic, trade and industrial documents were also signed between the two countries during President da Silva’s visit to Tehran.

A comprehensive document on mineral cooperation has recently been inked in the presence of the two presidents, Khademolmelleh added./end
