17 MAY – INTERNATIONAL CHILD HELPLINE DAY
Baku, May 18 (AzerTAc). International Child Helpline Day is annually celebrated in May 17. Child Helpline International (CHI) is the global member network of child helplines, working to protect the rights of the child. Child Helpline International is the leading organization for child helplines, bringing them together to create strong and unified support for children all over the world.
Since 2006, Azerbaijan Child Helpline Service is a member of CHI. The service was established with support of Azerbaijan`s Education Ministry, Azercell Telecom Mobile Company and UNICEF.
Aim of the service is to help children who need crisis intervention, rehabilitation, counseling or someone to talk to, to contact someone in an emergency and non-emergency situation. It provides supportive information or directly links children to immediate rescue and safety.
