Tehran declaration proves failed western Iran strategy: German daily
Berlin, May 18, IRNA -- Latest agreement allowing Iran to swap its uranium in Turkey for enrichment proved that western strategy towards Tehran has finally failed, Berlin-based daily junge welt said in an editorial Monday.
"The Tehran agreement showed that the strategy of the US and the EU (European Union) to isolate Iran internationally has failed," it said.
Allegations by western governments that they are representing the international community in the nuclear dispute with Iran is "merely based on wishful thinking, arrogance and propaganda," the paper added.
It stressed most of countries in the world did not support the aggressive confrontational western policy against Iran but in fact did explicitly reject it.
The newspaper hailed the Tehran tripartite (Iran, Brazil and Turkey) accord as an "important political chapter" which could serve as an example for the peaceful solution of conflicts./end
