Turkey: Iran eased Int’l community’s tension in nuclear field

Ankara, May 18, IRNA – Turkey’s Foreign Ministry issued a communiqué announcing that Iran has eased the international community’s tension by accepting the nuclear fuel swap deal in Turkish soil and signing the trilateral Tehran declaration.
The Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs communiqué, referring to the trilateral, Iran-Turkey-Brazil, nuclear fuel swap deal, added, “The signing of this agreement clearly showed that finding a peaceful solution to Iran’s nuclear issue is quite possible.”
Appreciating the Iranian nation’s trust in Ankara’s efforts aimed at problem solving in Iran’s nuclear issue is appreciated and the signing of the trilateral communiqué is of great importance for the entire international community.”
The communiqué further emphasizes, “In response to Iran and the international community’s trust, Turkey would spend its utmost efforts aimed at precise and full implementation of the trilateral protocol’s objectives.”
The Turkish foreign ministry communiqué also considers the trilateral, Iran, Brazil and Turkey communiqué as a step towards resuming dialogue between Iran and the international community in line with the objectives of the nuclear NPT, in which the rights and responsibilities of both sides are ensured, aimed at reaching a sustainable compromise./end
