Suspected arsonists set fire at Dindaeng building in police detention
BANGKOK, May 18 (TNA) - Firefighters Tuesday morning are trying to douse a blaze at an abandoned four-storey building under control after the fire broke out around 6am.
Two teenagers soaked with oil ran out of the building as the first floor of the building appeared to catch fire.
Guards from the anti-government Red Shirt protesters detained them and they were sent to the Dindaeng police station.
The abandoned building was located near the Bangkok Bank Dindaeng branch and an apartment building in the zone of a confrontation between soldiers and Red Shirt protesters.
Fire engines took about an hour to reach the scene as the area was blocked by the protesters.
Meanwhile, the Erawan Emergency Centre Tuesday morning reported the latest tally of the death toll during four-day the clashes between soldiers and Red Shirt protesters rose to 36 while 279 persons were wounded with three persons remaining in intensive care units. (TNA)
