AZERI JUDO FIGHTER CLAIMS GOLD AT CAIRO WORLD CUP
Baku, May 17 (AzerTAc). Azerbaijan`s Olympic champion Elnur Mammadli has won gold medal at the judo world cup tournament in the Egyptian capital, Cairo.
Mammadli beat Russia`s Arsen Pshmakhov in the 81kg division`s final bout to seal his first triumph after the Beijing Games.
Another Azeri fighter Elkhan Rajabli claimed bronze in this category, while in the 90kg class Elkhan Mammadov won silver for Azerbaijan.
Another silver was added by Tarlan Karimov in the 66kg class.
In the women`s event Azerbaijan`s bronze came from Ramila Usubova who competed in the 63kg weight category.
In the overall medal table, Azerbaijan ranked 4th, while Ukraine took the biggest number of medals.
