Russian-India exercise due in India in autumn.

MOSCOW, May 17 (Itar-Tass) - The Russian-Indian peacekeeping exercise
INDRA will be held in India next autumn. A total of 150 Russian military
will take part, Colonel Oleg Yushkov, spokesman for the Russian Ground
Forces told Tass on Monday.
"On the decision of the Russian defence minister and in line with a
plan for the development of ties with armies of foreign states, on Sunday
a group of officers from the Ground Forces left for India to take part in
the first scheduled consultations on the joint Russian-Indian exercise
INDRA 2010," the colonel said.
"It is planned to involve in the exercise military of a mechanized
infantry company from a separate mechanized infantry brigade," he
specified.
According to Yushkov, the second conference is scheduled for
June-July. It will be held in Russia. The previous INDRA exercise was held
in 2009, and it was a naval exercise. It trained joint activity in fight
against sea piracy, terrorism and contraband.
