AZERI OARSMAN CLAIMS GOLD AT INTERNATIONAL WEDAU REGATTA
Baku, May 16 (AzerTAc). Azerbaijani oarsman, two-fold world champion, Alexander Alexanderov has won a gold medal at the International Wedau Regatta held in Duisburg, Germany.
Azerbaijan national team consisting of two sportsmen Alexander Alexanderov and Javid Afandiyev (U-23) has competed in the Regatta for the first time. Azerbaijani Afandiyev finished eleventh.
The tournament saw participation of oarsmen from 20 countries.
Bulgarian athlete Georgi Bojilov ranked second, Greek Stergios Parakhristos third.
