Aussies injured in Thai violence

Three Australians have been injured in violent clashes in Thailand.
The Thai army and anti-government Red Shirt protesters are facing off in the streets
of Bangkok, where 16 people have been killed so far in the violent clashes.
An explosion has been heard on Saturday, shots have been fired, and tyres appear to
have been set alight.
At least 141 people have been injured during the latest clashes, six of them
foreigners.
Australia's Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) is helping three
Australians who have been injured and received medical treatment. Their injuries are
not life-threatening.
Some foreign embassies in Bangkok have closed, but Australia's has remained open.
That decision is "under constant review".
DFAT continues to advise those planning a trip to Thailand to reconsider the need to
travel because of the widening political unrest and civil disorder.
