FILA agrees to hold wrestling competitions in Iran
New Delhi, May 15, IRNA – Head of International Federation of Associated Wrestling Styles ( FILA) declared that the federation has agreed to hold men Free style and Greco-Roman wrestling competitions in Iran.
Rafael Martinetti said here on Friday if Moscow relinquishes holding the competitions, Iran can host the matches.
He said FILA has sent a letter to Moscow and has told them that they should declare their final decision in one week.
World official competitions have not been held in Iran for years, because of FILA regulations concerning simultaneous men and women competitions.
Iranian members of Asian Wrestling Federation as well as Iranian members of FILA in a meeting of Asia Wrestling Council on Wednesday called for separation of men and women wrestling competitions./end
