Interior Ministry closes 246 weapon stores
SANA'A, July 11 (Saba) - Interior Ministry has closed about 246 weapon stores during the period of June 16 - July 9, 2008,well-informed source at the Interior Ministry said Thursday.
The source told the military-run 26Sep.net that the ministry has confiscated about 148,000 weapon pieces in the main cities since thebeginning of its campaign in August 2007.
The ministry and its security corporations are continuing its campaign to shut such stores and referring the persons, who sells weapons to justice in addition to regulating weapons carrying in themajor cities.
The campaign to shut the weapon stores comes in pursuance of the cabinet's decision No. 138 for 2007 to close these stores throughoutthe country, the source added.
